Description

The UAR Taur is a two-door pickup/bed truck, featuring an all-wheel drive drivetrain and a big beefy V8 engine. It is the most popular vehicle in Ramadia due to not stopping production thanks to the Cataclysm. It has been only slightly upgraded since it first entered production in the late 1970s, and only really featuring safety upgrades. It is inherently capable of hauling a single unit of cargo.

The vehicle's statistics are only partially known, with the only directly measurable statistic being speed, in Studs per second. Other stats are vague approximations from Kozakowskyy, one of the main developers for the game.

The Taur comes with various attachments, which all variants share.
All Mirror attachments are shared between all cars, whereas the Ornament, Visor, Snorkel, and Frame attachments are unique to the Taur - The Dash attachment is shared between various vehicle models. The list of possible attachments are as follows:

  • Mirror:
    • Trees:
      • Black Ice
      • Camo
      • Cherry Blossom
      • Dayside Breeze

Each variant of the Taur has different trailers and beds, with the Stock and Drag models sharing their singular trailer.

Variants / Deviations

Stock

The Stock Taur is the cheapest and one of the smallest variants.. It can, however, tow trailers, unlike its larger brothers. It has two seats.
The only trailer the Stock Taur can carry is:

  • Flatbed Trailer - Hauls four units of cargo.

Long

The Long Taur is the replacable bed variant of the Taur, in that the pickup bed is replaced by various bed types. Its usable beds are:

  • Flatbed/Covered Flatbed - Hauls a single unit of cargo. Functionally identical apart from the canopy.
  • Flatbed and Trailer/Covered Flatbed and Trailer - Hauls a single unit of cargo in its main trailer, and four units in its trailer. Functionally identical to the Stock Taur's trauler. Functionally identical in use, apart from the canopy.
  • Maintenance Shed - Hauls 5 units of repair materials. Looks silly.
  • Sewage Tank - Hauls 4000L of sewage that needs to be pumped from septic tanks across the map.
  • Fuel Tank - Hauls 4000L of fuel.
  • Fuel Tank and Trailer - Hauls 4000L of fuel in the main tank, and 9000L in the trailer's tank.
  • Water Tank - Hauls 4000L of water.
  • Water Tank and Trailer - Hauls 4000L of water in the main tank, and 9000L in the trailer's tank.
  • Dumper Bed - Hauls 300 units of either sand or gravel.

Semi

The long hauler sibling of the Taur family, the Semi is a variant of the Long Taur model with a spare wheel mounted to the back of the main cab. The vehicle features a fifth wheel, which allows it to haul the largest of the Taur's trailers. These are:

  • Flatbed/Covered Flatbed - Hauls eight units of cargo. Functionally identical, only different by one having a canopy.
  • Water Tanker - Hauls 20000L of water.
  • Fuel Tanker - Hauls 200000L of fuel.
  • Dumper Trailer - Hauls 600 units of either gravel or sand.
  • Drag

The Drag Taur is both a unique model and more of the same, gaining a unique paint, unique livery, an improved engine with blower capable of 206st/s. It shares its attachments with the Stock Taur, however, and is capable of carrying the same amount of cargo.

    Notes and Trivia

    • The "Marea de Bronz" paint for the Taur means "The Bronze Sea". This could reference either the Molten Sea, a basin in the Temple of Jerusalem made for priests to wash with, or the Bronze Sea from Arcane Odyssey.
    • The Covered Flatbeds for the Semi and Long models are unable to use the ramp at Silverslate. The same goes for the Maintenance model.
    • The Straightline Connection livery of the Drag model has the American flag on it.
    • The Straightline Connection livery of the Drag model is based on the Masser Y found in My Summer Car's drag strip - which is inherently based on the Morris 12 Y Type.
