Description

A Horizon rework is currently in progress. Vehicles pictured on this page MAY be incorrect.

The Takeshi Horizon is, stock, a two-door coupe, with variants making it into a four door sedan or wagon, notably in right-hand drive, featuring a turbocharged inline 6 engine. The stock model was introduced in 1988, as an upgrade to the sedan and wagon variations made prior, however in 2005 all variants are produced with the turbocharged I6 thanks to the Cataclysm reducing avaliable engine supplies. In 2005, the Horizon is made on contract, and imported in from [Caroidified Australia]. It is one of two vehicles incapable of hauling any amount of cargo in any variant.

It is based on the Nissan Skyline R31.

The vehicle's statistics are only partially known, with the only directly measurable statistic being speed, in Studs per second. Other stats are vague approximations from the main developers for the game.

The Horizon is able to equip several attachments, of which all variants share.
All Mirror attachments are shared between all cars, whereas the Bootlid category is unique to all variants of the Horizon. The list of possible attachments are as follows:

  • Mirror:
    • Trees:
      • Black Ice
      • Camo
      • Cherry Blossom
      • Dayside Breeze
      • Green Apple
      • Leather
      • Mai Tai
      • Margarita
      • New Car
      • Rainforest
      • Royal Pine
      • Strawberry
      • Vanilla
    • Fur Dice
  • Bootlid:
    • Sticker
There are no extra trailers for the Horizon.

Handling

The Horizon is one of few cars intended for racing first, and thus has a few handling quirks not seen on other vehicles.
Being designed for highway driving, it has a unique quirk where when braking at high speed, the vehicle may experience snap oversteer - losing traction at the rear wheels. This can be counteracted by braking before entering a turn.

Variants / Deviations

Stock

The Stock Horizon was, originally, the first and most powerful variant of the Horizon. Thanks to the Cataclysm affecting its production in Nihon, however, its contracted manufacturers now use the Stock's engine for all variants of the Horizon.

Sedan/Wagon

The Sedan and Wagon variants of the Horizon are four-door models of the Stock model. Originally, they had weaker Inline-5 engines, being designed for the non-sport car market, but in 2005 are manufactured with the Stock's more powerful turbocharged I6s. Thanks to the four doors, the rear bench seats in both models are more accessable.

Nihon/Kangaroo Police

The Police variants of the Horizon are both sedan models. They feature sirens, with the Nihon variant being a Japanese police siren, and the Kangaroo variant being an Australian siren.

The Kangaroo variant may have its name changed in the future, seeing as there is currently no official Caroid name for the territory of Australia.

Taxi Sedan/Wagon

The Taxi variants of the Horizon are the only "work-capable" variants of the Horizon, both being able to do taxi jobs for money. According to the description for the vehicles, they were awarded the "Least Desirable Taxi to Enter" award in 1991.

Notes and Trivia

  • Despite being Right Hand Drive, the Horizon still spawns to the right of the player, instead of spawning to the left.
  • The Horizon is one of two vehicles entirely incapable of doing cargo work, the other being the Tachoma '71.
  • Despite being based upon the R31, the Horizon has no tuner/street models, nor any models with stickers/branding.
  • The preview images for the Horizon has its paint colours more washed out than they appear on the actual car. This applies for all variants apart from the Kangaroo Police.
  • The fan of the engine on the Horizon used to have a bug where it would fling both the player and vehicle if stood on. This was patched 03/06/25 in the Vehicle Update 1.
